Hi all,
I upgraded my old imac with Mac mini (m4) with parallels. Installed the drivers as per Player One (disabling driver signature enforcement) and updated the PlayerOneCamera.dll (in Sharpcap), but still not being recognized by Sharpcap 4.1 (latest)
In device manager the camera shows but with yelloy "caution" triangle.
Any idea how to fix this?
Thanks in advance for any help!

Hi,
usually if the device manager shows a yellow caution sign, there will be further information somewhere in the device properties (right click on device, choose properties) that gives a bit more information about what the problem is. That might help point you in the right direction.
I must admit that I wasn't aware that Player One had a Windows-on-Arm driver. I knew that ToupTek cameras could be persuaded to work (modern ones can use the Windows-built-in 'winusb' driver) and that there was an experimental ZWO one at one point. I do have an arm mini-PC here that I will try to dig out and see if I can make the PlayerOne camera work at all on it, but I might not get a chance for a few days.
cheers,
Robin

Re: Player one Saturn-c sqr and windows arm Sharpcap
Hi,
I managed to test this and got it to work on my arm64 mini PC running Windows 11.
I had to do the following:
* Reboot Windows 11 with driver signing enforcement disabled (you have to do this *every* time you boot to get things to work)
* Install the driver pack from the PlayerOne download, say yes to everything it asks
* Plug in the camera
* Check device manager - for me it was still wrong, my camera showed up as 'Mars-C' in 'Other Devices'
* Right click on camera in device manager
* Choose 'Properties'
* Go to 'Driver' tab
* Click 'Update Driver'
* Choose 'Browse my computer for drivers'
* Enter the folder name below (or browse to it) - the installer should have placed the driver files there
* Make sure 'Include Subfolders' is ticked
* Press 'Next'
* Run through the rest of the driver installation, saying yes to install when prompted.
That should be sufficient to get the camera to show up in the 'Imaging Devices' section of Device Manager with no yellow exclaimation mark, and if you now run SharpCap, it should be detected and usable.
cheers,
Robin

Hi,
glad it worked - I also found in later testing that if I moved the camera to a different USB port, it didn't work until I went through all the manual driver update stuff again
cheers,
Robin

Yes. Somehow I lost the camera without even changing usb port.
Is there any other way to communicate the camera with Sharcap. Ascom?
I tried from Player One to install their version of Ascom for the camera but no work.
Any help really appreciated.

Hi,
you could try ASCOM as the only real alternative. You would need to install both the ASCOM Platform *and* the Player One ASCOM drivers to have any chance of it working. Of course ASCOM is only really suitable for longer exposure deep sky imaging (it cannot manage fast frame rates).
cheers,
Robin
