Error "A serious issue hab been identified...." very long....

Post by pinbert »

Hello,
I'm using Sharpcap with a minipc equipped with win 11 pro
I use SC only for the polar alignment.
My camera is a QHY168C
Last saturday, when I started SC, an error appair (see attached image)
In order I removed the software, I downloaded a recent update and I install it BUT I have ever the same error
I never had any problems until last month
The only thing that changed was the SSD replacement; the contents of the old drive (256 gb) were copied to the new one (500 gb).
Waiting for your reply
Best regards
Giuseppe

Hi Giuseppe,

apologies for this - what you have encountered is a feature that I added to allow me to notify people if there is a very bad problem with a particular version of SharpCap. It's not meant to show up unless I upload a particular file to my website that basically details which version has a problem, what the problem is and what to do about it, but for some reason for you it is showing up anyway.

It will be nothing to do with your system - more something to do with either my web site misbehaving at that time or something in the network (like a proxy server) between you and our web site is introducing a response that confuses the code in SharpCap. Since we haven't had any other reports of this happening, the 'something in the network' thing seems more likely, but it is impossible to be sure.

I will add some extra safeguards to the next update to ensure that this sort of false alarm doesn't happen any more. Until then, please feel free to just press 'OK' to ignore the message and continue.

thanks,

Robin
