How do I enter externally derived images either from my own older images or from a web source like astrobin so that I can A) plate solve them and use as a target B) Analyze their histogram.
Lastly under the sensor analysis tool it's stated that many of the CMOS cameras have been previously tested. Where is a list of these? Has my Zwo
ASI 2600mc been tested? I did a mock inside the house trial for my ASI 071 mc and data seemed to have already be there.

Re: how to use externally derived images in Sharpcap
Hi,
you can use either the #1 Test Camera for loading a single image into SharpCap or the 'Folder Monitor Camera' for loading multiple frames in a single folder - see https://docs.sharpcap.co.uk/4.1/#Virtual%20Cameras
There is no publicly available list of which cameras have the sensor data pre-measured and included with SharpCap, but if the camera is popular and has been in use for more than about 6 months or so then it is likely to be included. All you need to do to check is to open the camera in SharpCap and select the histogram tool. If you see the Smart Histogram colour bars at the top of the histogram (see https://docs.sharpcap.co.uk/4.1/#The%20 ... ram%20Bars) then the sensor data is present already.
cheers,
Robin

Re: how to use externally derived images in Sharpcap
Robin thanks for the prompt reply I tried both the virtual camera 1 and the other camera monitoring module. If I click on or the other of these two two and go to the sharpcap capture file and click on a fits image it get PI. there is some step I am missing; please advise. I read your suggestions twice but still not luck.

Re: how to use externally derived images in Sharpcap
Hi,
There isn't a way to make SharpCap load files by double clicking on them or selecting 'Open' in Windows explorer - that will go to programs like PI. Instead, to select the files to load into SharpCap, you need to start with SharpCap running, then
* For the folder monitor camera, you may be prompted to browse for the source files automatically when you open the camera (if not, press the 'Browse' button next to 'Source Files' in the controls on the right). Using the file browsing dialog that pops up, go to the folder containing your files and select one of them. Then press the 'All .fits files' button at the bottom to open the fits files in that folder
* For the test camera, open the test camera, then Browse button next to 'Image' in the testing controls to select a single image to use as a test image.
If you have an up to date version of SharpCap, you also have another option... Run SharpCap but do not open a camera. Then drag the file you want into SharpCap (over the main grey area where the camera image normally goes). If you drag in a single image file, it will open the 'Test Camera 1' and show it. If you drag in a folder, it will open all the files in that folder in the Folder monitor camera.
cheers,
Robin
