Exception error
When I ask Sharpcap to go to a target, it gives me the following error: Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation. What does this mean, and how do I take care of it?

Hi,
the first thing to do is to update SharpCap to the latest version from our downloads page. Relatively recently (last few months) I tried to fix things so that you get more informative error messages when something bad happens, rather than that fairly cryptic message. You can find the most up-to-date versions on our downloads page : https://www.sharpcap.co.uk/sharpcap/downloads
Even with the version you currently have, the real error message will probably be listed in the SharpCap log - if you look through that (or post the content here captured after triggering the error) then we can see what the real cause is.
A couple of possibilities come to mind though...
1) Check the mount is tracking before trying to do the GOTO - some mounts will not accept a GOTO command if they are not tracking
2) Check that the place you are trying to GOTO is above the horizon - again you could get errors from the mount if trying for a target that is below the horizon.
Beyond that, we will need to see the log from SharpCap in order to investigate further.

Hi,
unfortunately, the log that you have shared above just records SharpCap starting up and then comes to an end. What you need to do is open the camera and actually try to make the GOTO happen inside SharpCap, then after you have done that go to Help->Show Log - by then the log will contain much more information, including information about the error fairly near the end.

Yes, "Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation" is typically not really an error ... it indicates that the mount refuses to move to the target. If the target is below the horizon or outside some limits like near the meridian or the zenith for an AltAz mount.
You can do some tests during the day without a camera.
In SharpCap with your mount connected, you can use the tools "Goto Catalog Target/Co-ordinates".
If you open the object list, then you can see where is the object in the sky.
Select some objects until one produces the error.
SharpCap sorts the objects from the zenith. So you can select an object at different elevation above the horizon.
The angles are correct only if you have the location coordinates under "Polar Alignment" or in the mount.
Have a look at the settings of your mount or the ASCOM driver of your mount ... some drivers have angles limitation.

I looked at M51, M63, and M96, and the following are the results. A big red X on Tracking Speed. I checked the Scope Controls, and my speed was 4/second, and I was receiving the same exception code. What do I need to do? Please help me. Thanks in advance.

I guess that you meant to share a screenshot or some part of the SharpCap log with that last post to let us try to understand the problem - unfortunately it didn't make it into the post, so there is not really much to go on.
You can post log files or images by looking below the main editing box for a post, then switching from 'Options' to 'Attachments', then pressing 'Add files' to select one or more files to attach.
