Hi,

Astap is a good program for plate solving images - I think it has a batch mode and can be set up to insert the FITS headers into the files as it solves them.

Ohh my old stupid head! Oh coronavirus!! Oh demencia!!! :evil:

VPhot does not need ALL solved images, but just the FIRST, with plate center coordinates from Astrometry! And even reasonable drift of stars does not prevent Time Series photometry. So SC calibration+stacking works excellent and fully satisfies requirements of variable stars observations with the simplest instruments - mount without GOTO and uncooled planetary camera.

Maybe, some improvenment of plate solving and sequences may make SC even more convenient, but with company of Astrometry.net and VPhot it is powerful tool!
