Sharpcap 4.1
Windows 64 - up to date
Testing a Repeat Control in Sequence Editor to see how it behaves. I cannot escape it with Emergency Stop or Stop buttons. I'm lucky to be able to close Sharpcap and restart, but often have to reboot, especially a remote session via windows desktop.
No devices/equipment are open or active.

Re: Stop and Emergency Stop in Sequencer inop
Hi,
OK, sadly you are basically running a denial of service attack on your own copy of SharpCap with that sequence - it is adding new notifications in a fast loop, and each notification requires the UI to respond to pop up the green notification bar, etc. As well as that the UI has to record the logged information about the sequence progress - all of that UI work, takes a lot longer than it takes for the sequence to go round the loop and launch *another* notification request, so the queue of work for the user interface to catch up with just gets longer and longer. Somewhere buried in that queue is the button click message from cancel, but it would probably take many minutes for that to get to the top and actually have an effect, then probably hours for the UI to catch up with the whole queue.
Putting a delay of 1s in the loop will make the problem go away - I will actually edit the code for the notification step to add a delay of maybe 0.5s to avoid this biting anyone else.
cheers,
Robin
