SC version 4.1.13170.0 issue with dark substraction

#1

Post by Opmc73 »

Hi

I installed today the las update of SC but I was obliged to rollback to previous because my darks where not substracted or not well substracted in deep sky live stack.
The rollback has solved the issue.

kind regards
Olivier

Hi Olivier,

can you just confirm what version you were on previously please? I have just checked the changes between 13152 and 13170 and can't see anything that should impact dark subtraction. I am also seeing normal dark subtraction (both in live stacking and when not using live stacking) in the current version - at least in a simple test. Maybe there is some specific set of circumstances that can trigger an issue and my test is not triggering the problem.

cheers,

Robin

Hi Robin ,

if it is the version I rollback to it is the 4.1.13152.0 24/02/2025 . I have no issue with dark with it when I had issue with 13170.

Hi Olivier,

thanks for confirming - I still can't see any changed between 13152 and 13170 that look to be capable of affecting dark subtraction, so it's still a mystery.

Are you able to get the problem to happen if you select previously saved raw (not yet dark subtracted) images using the folder monitor camera and then add a dark frame? If so, that makes it reproducable by sharing the appropriate images with me, and I can then test and hopefully see what I am currently missing.

thanks,

Robin
