I have a problem using Smart Histogram that I can't figure out. The drop down for filter choice is not activeand is unresponsive. It doesn't look right either. I have a screen shot attached. I'm using a QHY268m mono camera with filter wheel. All SharpCap Settings are correct, and the filter wheel works when prompted. What am I missing?
Thanks, Andrew

Re: Smart Histogram Question
Hi,
because you are using a mono camera, there is no choice to be made about which colour channel to measure, so the drop down to select the channel is disabled. I think that's all that it is. If you were using a colour camera then you would have various options available there.
cheers,
Robin

Re: Smart Histogram Question
Hi Robin. Thanks for the quick reply. I need to read the manual again. I guess I messed up and understood that I would need to run Smart Histogram for each filter. Should I make sure the active filter in the filter wheel is the Luminance filter when running Smart Histogram? I have a clear night forecast for tonight so I want to be ready.
Thanks for a cool program!

Re: Smart Histogram Question
Hi,
actually, you want to run this with the filter that you intend to use, since the recommendations will depend on the amount of light the filter lets through to the sensor. If you already have some idea about which filters give the brighter and dimmer images then you might just decide to run the analysis with the filter that gives the dimmest image and then use those settings for all filters (that would be fine).
cheers,
Robin
