Hi all

I have an AAF focuser from ToupTek that I would like to set up so that Sharpcap takes care of correcting the focus if necessary.

I would like to know if anyone has a link to how to proceed.

Sharpcap recognizes my equipment, I manage to link it when shooting.

Thank you in advance.

Hi,

you can use SharpCap to help achieve best focus and also to autofocus - see the documentation on focusing here : https://docs.sharpcap.co.uk/4.1/#Focusing ( in particular, check out the sections on Nearly Automatic and Fully Automatic focusing).

For automatic refocusing during an observing session, you would have to either use the 'Advanced Sequence Editor' which provides a way to refocus when the focuser temperature changes, or, if using a filter wheel, you could use the 'Deep Sky Sequence Planner' and chose the option to refocus when the filter is changed. There is nothing currently in SharpCap that will directly monitor the image quality and refocus if it reduces (after all, that could be triggered repeatedly by seeing changes).

cheers,

Robin

Thank you Robin

Maybe I was a little too ambitious.

Cheers
