Hello. I'm new to the forum. I have a question on how do I run the sensor analysis. Do I need to remove the camera from the telescope, or can I keep it in place on the telescope and shoot through the L filter? Also, I read in the instructions, SharpCap ships with the technical info for 150 cameras so running the sensor analysis might not be really necessary in order to use Smart Histogram to determine camera settings. Does SharpCap automatically grab the file info when starting Smart Histogram?
In case it is important:
Camera: QHY268m mono
Filters: Antlia LRGB V-Pro, 2.8nm Ha, OIII, SII
Scope: Stellarvue SVX102T
Thanks,
Andrew

Re: My First Sensor Analysis
Hi,
you can either take the camera off the telescope, or leave it on for the analysis. Either way, you need to be able to
* Adjust the brightness of the illumination reaching the sensor if necessary - guidance at the start of the analysis procedure
* Have pretty constant illumination brightness for most of the rest of the procedure
* Be able to cut out all light when prompted for dark measurements
However, as you say, there are pre-done analysis results included with SharpCap, which do include figures for the QHY268M, so you shouldn't need to perform the analysis yourself unless you really want to.
cheers,
Robin
