iOptron Mount Control By SharpCap

It looks like SharpCap has handed off mount control to the iOptron Commander. I can't nudge the mount around from within SharpCap. am i doing something wrong or is there a workaround?

Hi Chris,

you can still adjust the mount from within SharpCap, but the messages do all go via iOptron commander (which now acts as an ASCOM driver for other software like SharpCap).

The steps you need to take are

1) Set up SharpCap to use iOptron commander as a telescope mount ASCOM driver in the SharpCap hardware settings

2) Open the camera, then make sure that the 'Connected' box is ticked in the telescope control area.

Once you have done both of those it should work - that's how I control my iOptron mount from within SharpCap
