Hi,
for any problem like this, the first thing I would suggest would be to make sure that you have the very latest version of SharpCap 4.1 from our download page -
https://www.sharpcap.co.uk/sharpcap/downloads
Next, there are three possible ways that SharpCap might be controlling your camera:
1) Native SDK control - if that was the case then the camera would appear in the cameras menu just under a 'ToupTek Cameras' heading
2) Via an ASCOM driver - the camera would appear under an ASCOM Cameras heading
3) Via a webcam (directshow) driver - the camera would appear under a 'DirectShow Cameras' heading.
If you are using either 2 or 3 to control the camera, then it would be worth checking for updates on the camera manufacturers web site and installing any new version of the ASCOM driver / DirectShow driver that you find.
Another thing to try would be to turn *off* any image processing functions in SharpCap (stacking, display stretch adjustments, etc), so that all that SharpCap is doing is getting the image from the camera and showing it on the screen - maybe that would help.
Next, Check the USB cable to the camera and use a shorter one if possible - if you have a very long cable, maybe the amount of power the camera is getting is marginal and could cause problems.
Finally, you might see if any bright white target has the same effect as the moon (shining a light into the telescope). Often collecting this sort of information eventually reveals a pattern that will then lead to the cause of the problem - even very strange problems like this!
Hope this helps,
Robin
https://www.sharpcap.co.uk/sharpcap/downloads
