- Power loss or disconnection of the camera during firmware update will very likely break your camera - meaning it would need to be returned to ToupTek for repair.
- Ideally, update the camera from a laptop comptuter with a fully charged battery, so that if the mains power does go out, it will not affect the firmware update process
- Use a good quality, relatively short (<2m length) USB cable when updating the firmware. Do not use hubs or extension cables - connect direct from camera to computer. The cable that came with the camera is probably the best one to use.
- After the update, you may have problems in HDR mode with older versions of SharpCap, or with other software using an old ToupTek SDK
- Please watch the 'update_do_as_follows' instruction video inside the download zip file before running the update
- Only use the firmware update files on the exact model of camera they are listed for.
- Note that these files are provided here as a convenience for ToupTek camera users - we can't provide any further support regarding the flashing process or any problems caused by updating the firmware
- If you have a ToupTek made IMX585 camera that has different branding (Altair, Ogma, Meade, etc, etc) then you may need to ask the camera manufacturer for a firmware update if you see HDR image problems in recent versions of SharpCap.
