Hi,
With the latest version of Sharpcap 4 (just downloaded) and all recent drivers for Player One installed, the Mars M II camera tops out at a lousy 9 fps...
Is there an update or fix for this?
In Firecapture, I managed to get 128fps by copying a dll from the Player One SDK into the Firecapture folder (before I also had 9 fps).
I tried a similar thing with Sharpcap but that does not help, or maybe it should be in a different folder somewhere, dunno.
Help? Update?
Tx
Dodi

Re: Frame rate very low for Player One Mars M II camera
Answering my own question: I have grabbed the camera dll from the Player One SDK and copied it over the one in the Sharpcap folder. Solved.
Sharpcap should follow more the releases of SDK's in their distribution or at least post a clear method how to handle new cameras.

Re: Frame rate very low for Player One Mars M II camera
Hi,
that's odd - SharpCap is usually up-to-date within a week or two of a new version being released.
I just checked and SharpCap is currently using SDK 3.2.2 (with an update to 3.3.0 coming next week).
The newest Firecapture version I can find uses SDK 3.1.1 (mid January version) - this is FC 2.7.1
Were you using the very latest SharpCap 4.0 or 4.1? I suppose another possibility is that 3.1.1 worked fine then something got broken in 3.2.2 and is then fixed again in 3.3.0
cheers,
Robin

Re: Frame rate very low for Player One Mars M II camera
I find myself with the very same problem with a player one camera (Apollo M): unexpectedly low framerate and I came across the same experience with firecapture in the past with a different camera (PGR, for which you needed to copy a dll from the sdk and replace the one in the FC folder)
But where exactly should I put the player one dll file in sharpcap? which folder I mean.
Sorry, but I'm absolutely new to sharpcap. In fact I used it today for the first time
Ciao
Gianluca

Hi,
you can replace SDK dlls in the SharpCap install folder, which is either
or
The first is for the 32 bit version, the second is for the 64 bit version.
If you put an older version into the folder and then run SharpCap from the start menu or desktop shortcut, it's very likely that Windows will decide to 'repair' the SharpCap installation and put the default version of the DLL back - overwriting your version. Running SharpCap by double clicking on SharpCap.exe in the install folder avoids this.
Of course, changing the SDK version also has a chance of breaking things rather than fixing them...
cheers,
Robin

HI.
I have had the same problem. I found a soution: You have to use the "directshow" driver and it works perfectly. you only have to choose the good camera in sharpcap (directshow camera)136ims in max roi. If it can helps.
Bye
