Memory Setting

#1

Post by dsojda55 »

Hi Robin,
I have a pro license and in Settings > Memory the program used to default to 8 gb - my machine has 16 gb. The default was fine with me. Now when cheking settings the program sets it to 2 gb and will not accept the change back to 8 gb. I have v 4.1.12606.0 installed. Could the program somehow not recognize my pro license? Please advise/ Thanks.

Hi Dave,

there is a combined maximum of the two sliders added together of something like half of physical memory or physical memory less 6Gb (whichever is higher).

That means that the maximum for your setup is likely to be about 10Gb across the two sliders, so if one is set to 8Gb, the other cannot be raised above 2Gb.

I think that combined limit is probably the most likely cause of the restriction you are seeing.

cheers,

Robin

Hi Robin
Thanks for the reply. After thinking about it I decided to check the license status and found that for some reason after originally accepting the license, the program now did not see it and stated my license had expired. I have reinstalled the license and now I can set the sliders to 4+4 gb without any problems. I wish I had thought of this prior to posting so I would not have taken up your time. My apologies. Thanks again.
