Hi,
I have observed after somerecent update installations (at least sine June) that the sensor anlysis result is lot after after instalation of the update. I remarked it because the histogram with the brain warned me there is no sensor analysis for ma camera when this was existing in the previous installed version becasue I did it.

Re: Sensor analysis lost after installing an update
Hi,
are you using a ToupTek camera? Perhaps one with the IMX571 sensor?
At the last SDK update, ToupTek changed the names of these cameras (the names reported to software like SharpCap) from some long string of digits and characters to 'ATR2600C' or similar. I didn't spot the name change, so there were a few versions of SharpCap where the HCG/LCG switchover was a manual option rather than the normal way of being merged into the gain control. When I did spot the change and updated the code to recognize the new names of the camera, it put the LCG/HCG back into the gain control, but also will invalidate sensor analysis done with the previous versions that had a separate HCG/LCG option.
This could also happen if you have upgraded from an older version (with the gain based HCG/LCG option) to an intermediate version that shows the manual HCG/LCG control.
Basically, you need to re-run the analysis with the latest version to get the data matches up with the way that the gain control works in the latest version. Sorry about any inconvenience I do hope that they don't rename the models again!
cheers,
Robin

Re: Sensor analysis lost after installing an update
Ah yes you were rigth , I am using a Touptek 2600 color.
So I also understand why the HCG/LCG selector has disapeared.
Thank you.
I did a new sensor analysis yesterday.
as an additionnal question do I have to update the touptek dll included in Sharpcap when there do a new one or is it better to keep the one you have set in the distribution ?

Re: Sensor analysis lost after installing an update
Hi,
glad that the new analysis did the trick
You can update the DLL if you want to, but I would normally suggest not to bother unless you are having a problem with the one that SharpCap installs. If you are seeing everything working OK with the one in SharpCap then there is no real upside to updating, but always a slight risk of encountering a new issue with the updated version.
cheers,
Robin
