Hi Robin,
I configured ZWO EAF to support up to 190000 steps. However, when checking the range in Sharpcap, the minimum is 250, and the maximum is 100000. Please advise.
Ehud.

Re: ZWO EAF won't go beyond 100000 steps
Hi,
I can't find any code in SharpCap that would limit the range to less than the maximum reported by the ASCOM driver. Did you restart SharpCap after adjusting the configuration of the EAF? It's possible that the new limit is not being re-read from the ASCOM driver after configuration change.
cheers,
Robin

Re: ZWO EAF won't go beyond 100000 steps
I don't know how it happened' but now I can go beyond 100000. However, there is another very annoying issue:
Sometimes when I switch on the Sharpcap, the focuser has an older value' such as the value when I started the pervious session, but not the value when I ended it.
I am using the EAF through a hub and an extension cable, both get a 5v power from a power bank.
the extension cable connects to my laptop.
When I switch-off Sharpcap, I might also disconnect the USB cable' and the 5V power to the hubs.
Is the last setting of the Focuser maintained by Sharpcap? suspect that maybe a certain order should be maintained in order to preserve the last setting of the Focuser.
Please advise.

Re: ZWO EAF won't go beyond 100000 steps
Hi,
the last focuser position is not maintained by SharpCap, it's maintained either by the ASCOM driver or the hardware itself (which actually does it may vary from one type of hardware to another). Unfortunately the details of exactly how/when the value is saved is also up to the hardware manufacturer, so I can't give any real suggestions on what might be causing the most recent value to be lost. I guess if it is stored in the ASCOM driver on the PC then a crash of SharpCap might cause the value not to be saved (or anything that causes SharpCap not to exit cleanly - pulling the power plug on the PC for instance).
cheers,
Robin
