Pegasus Powerbox - the original

#1

Post by Altocumulus »

I can get SC to talk with my Pegasus DMFC,
but I've never managed to get my Powerbox to. This is the original PB - and doesn't have any reference in SC hardware options.

I have the latest ASCOM, and also the latest PB drivers (from 2020).

Does anyone have this version of the PB and managed to connect to SC?

Ah - Solved.

I tried all the options in the dropdown, and it's the Device Hub Focuser

Hi,

for recent versions of SharpCap, you should probably install the 'Pegasus Unity' software - that includes ASCOM drivers for all Pegasus hardware (including older versions as far as I know). That should then make various options (including UPB) show up in the focusers selection box.

cheers,

Hi Robin,

The Utility is installed - however it can't find this version of the Powerbox!

Cheers

And then, this morning Friday - I find, after downloading the latest version of SC (coincidental) that, no it's not the device hub.

I'll get in touch with Evan at Ultimate...

Sorted.
The Unity Platform download doesn't include the drivers for the original Powerbox.
Loading the 'old' drivers solved it - I now have an entry in the drop down box that is correct and links to the focuser.
