Plate Solving and Sync

#1

Post by robert w »

Hello,
I'm trying to install the All Star Plate Solving software and have a question regarding one of the installation parameters. The installation dialog box is asking for several bits of information. I have the focal length of my scope, pixel size of my camera (ZWO ASI294MC), calculated the FOV using astronomy.tools. The dialog box is asking for the 'chip array ## X ## pixels'. I'm not sure what that means. Can someone explain what they are asking for? Thanks. :D

It is the Pixel Array: 4144 x 2822 i.e. the dimensions in pixels of a captured image. This can be found in the manual or the specs on the ZWO web site.
It also would be visible on the Astronomy Tools page where you obtained the FOV.
