I've returned to imaging after a very long time. So I decided to try Sharpcap after my old go-to software gave me problems. Alas, my pgr firewire gh3 does not appear as an available camera in Sharpcap 4.1. I have the latest flycap sdk (installed both 32 and 64 versions) and flycap detects the camera. Sharpcap though displays pgr cameras in the drop down menu, when selected return an error message suggesting to turn off the camera, disconnect it and reconnect it or restart the pc. Needless to say, none of these worked.
What could I be doing wrong?
Thanks for any help that anyone can provide
Luca

Re: Sharpcap does not detect my GH3
Hi Luca,
support for PointGrey cameras in SharpCap is somewhat limited - firstly, cameras requiring the 'Spinnaker' SDK are not supported at all. BlackFly SDK cameras should be supported, but I only have one model available to test/develop with, so there may be peculiarities of other models that are not being handled well.
If you are seeing your camera listed in the 'Point Grey Cameras' section of the menu, but you get an error when trying to use it, that's at least a start.
Probably the best thing to do is to try to open the camera, let it fail, then capture the SharpCap log and share it with me so that I can see what is going wrong in detail.
thanks,
Robin
