I have been attempting (with no success) to use the focus tools for planetary objects and am not having any success. I get one of two error messages -- the selection region is too large (if its the full image) or the selection region is too small, must be greater than 64 pixels each way. --- when I use the region of interest feature in my camera (smallest possible is 320x320). And sometimes it asks me to select the object I want to use, but clicking on the solar edge or sunspot has no effect. Am I correct that there is no way in sharpcap to select a region for applying planetary focus tools and I must use the camera ROI?
thanks,
greg

Re: Focus tools for solar system objects -- solar
Hi Greg,
you should be fine selecting the ROI to measure using the red selection box that SharpCap shows automatically when you activate this focus tool. Make sure the height and width of that red box are both between 64 pixels and 1024 pixels and you should find it is OK.
Sometimes the red selection box can end up being very small and hard to spot - if you just double click anywhere in the image, SharpCap will reset the selection box to a square about half the height of the image - you can then adjust from there. That's a good way to find the selection box if it seems to have gone missing. You can see what it should look like in the screenshot below.
If you are still stuck, please do send a screenshot of what you see (including the message and the selection box)
thanks,
Robin
