Hello,

Very interesting tool.

The ASCOM dlls have some functions for the calculation, so it could be possible to write a script.
An integrated tool in SharpCap is the best.

I think that SharpCap should do the calculation from the MPCORB.DAT file.
It will then shortcut all the intermediate steps.

The tool can do different things.
- search for all asteroids or comets visible in the image (with a threshold magnitude limit)
- show the selected asteroids from a list in the image
- the tool could be independent and it generates a custom annotation file. And later it is used with the Deep Sky Annotation tool
- or it could be integrated in the Deep Sky Annotation tool

Concerning the pre-formatted file ... why ?
Most of the people use a different software for other analysis or view.
CdC, C2A, Prism, ASTAP ?, ... all are using the nominal MPCORB.DAT file. Some of the programs generate a compiled version.
