Sequenced LRGB/refocus/mono-cam live stacking

Just wondering if you would consider adding to the live stacking capabilities a "simple" sequence for using LRGB filters with mono-camera for those with EFW and EAF on their scopes? I was just thinking out loud to another astronomy friend about this because he was mentioning how much faster his mono camera was compared to his OSC, no surprise there, and with a quick search found this posting in CN on this topic...

I was just thinking, obviously not too much, about something like sequential 30 s or ? LRGB exposures after establishing a starting refocus for each filter for as many times as needed to get the desired image. Maybe recheck focus for each filter every 10 or ? exposures. All the while allowing for adjusting RGB with the sliders and the other live stacking features. (It's always easier to wish for something than it is to implement it. The Devil is always in the details.)

yes, a feature like that is certainly on the 'would like to add' list, but as you point out it's not really as simple as it sounds (and that's even before you start thinking about having multiple channels live stack data and merging them and so on...)

If you are proficient with scripting, you should be able to accomplish this now, using two instances of SharpCap and scripted registration & processing software like Sirl.

Use the sequence planner in SharpCap to automate the capture of the lights, switching of the filters, refocus, etc.

Have a script running that calls Sirilic to register each set of lights (LRGB) and combine them to a corresponding RGB light and then register it to the first light, and stick it into a separate folder, which is monitored by a second image of SharpCap stacking via the folder camera.

We also consider ASTAP's capabilities to do just that, including live control of a folder

Actually I just realized there is no need to register to the first light, as SharpCap will register and stack each successive light. You only to register the separate filter subs for each other to create each LRGB composite sub.
