Multistar Focusing

How do you get SCD to plot a graph as opposed to what I am currently doing and mving focus in and out manually to seek the lowest score.

I am using a Celestron Focuser and operating it in Focus Assistant in SC.

Hi,

the things you need to do are

* Make sure the ASCOM driver for your celestron focuser is installed
* Make sure the focuser is connected to the PC
* Configure SharpCap to use your Celestron focuser - see https://docs.sharpcap.co.uk/4.1/#Config ... %20Focuser
* Open camera, tick the box to connect the focuser in the controls on the right (second image down in above documentation link)
* Check that the movement buttons in SharpCap move the focuser and the positition value changes

Once all of these are done, using multi star FWHM in SharpCap will default to showing a graph of quality of focus against focuser position as shown here https://docs.sharpcap.co.uk/4.1/#Point% ... 0Detection (although you will be looking for a dip in the graph, not a peak for multi-star FWHM, as the best focus is indicated by the lowest score).

cheers,

Robin

I have done everything but tick the box so hopefully next time I'm up and running that will get it going.

many thanks Robin.
