Recording mode for night vision device

Something that bothers me in live videos with my NVD, especially with narrow band filters, are these random fast flashes of light that the NVD shows at high gain due to its design. These flashes appear randomly and are different on every frame. That's why I came up with the idea that you can prevent them within the recording program. When filming through the NVD (without fast movements), you would only have to form the minimum of two consecutive images, e.g. of image 1 and image 2, and output this as a new image 1, then the same happens with image 2 and image 3 and so on... I could well imagine something like this in the FX menu.
I have done this with two short examples in post processing as an example. It's best to download it first, the Dropbox video player is no good. (normal = with flashes, minimum = without flashes): https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fo/72m7f8f8 ... 5z9qj&dl=0

Hi Martin,

yes, I see what you mean - the flashes are bigger than one pixel, so you cannot really catch them using hot pixel removal, although perhaps binning 2x2 and then using that function (or the FX median blur) might help. Thanks for the suggestion - I will keep a note of it.

cheers,

Robin
