Imaging processed stopped

#1

Post by giraud »

Hello Robin,

I was running an imaging session last night, asking Sharpcap to perform a first run on 15 images with one filter and then a second one of 15 images with another filter.
Sharpcap performed well until the second phase and up to image #10. Then PHD2 guiding seemed to have been lost but what surprises me is that Sharpcap stopped the session within the next ten minutes for a reason I don't understand.
Last image was saved at about 3:54 and then the session was ended at around 4:06. The last 5 exposures were not performed

Can you please have a look (log extract is attached, I can provide the full one)?

Many thanks.

Eric

Hi Eric,

from the log, it looks like the attempt to dither fails each time when PHD2 has lost guiding - that is expected, but it also seems to be capturing the capture of the frames too, which isn't. I will have to test this and see if I can work out what is going on in detail

cheers,

Robin

Ahh, a fairly simple logic error - when the guiding lost message is received, there was no check to see if the step being run had specified 'Require Guiding', so it cancelled the frame :(

Fixed for the next update.

cheers,

Robin

Thanks, it will be much appreciated.

Another sequence has stopped yesterday, after the image 6/18. I am not sure it is the same reason so I join the log. Things go wrong after 04:14:37.

Cheers.
Eric.

Hi Eric,

yes, looks like the same thing with the guiding dropping out. In this case it was by the looks of it on the last of the 18 frames, so it moved on to the clean up/warm up at the end of the sequence.

Odd that in this case the 'require guiding' was set to true, so it should have tried again to capture the last frame. Let me check that...

cheers,

Robin
