Hi Keith,

I think I got this all sorted - will be uploading a new version later today which only relies on the appropriate Microsoft redistributable - I tested on Win7 and it all installed and worked as expected providing the redist was already installed (even without a network connection active when installing).

cheers,

Robin

Robin hi

Thank you for ongoing efforts.

So I just downloaded the new version:

1) I then tried to install it, pretty much the same as before, log file attached.

2) I then un-installed vc_redist(both 32 and 64) and tried again, still failed.

3) I then just reinstalled the 64bit vc_redist and tried again, still failed.

Thanks
Keith

Hi Keith,

according to that log, the installer is detecting that you have the following runtimes installed

32 bit runtime version 14.38.33130
64 bit runtime version 14.34.31938

Code: Select all

[0CE0:0E04][2023-12-05T13:31:50]i100: Detect begin, 3 packages
[0CE0:0E04][2023-12-05T13:31:50]i000: Setting string variable 'ARCH_NAME' to value 'AMD64'
[0CE0:0E04][2023-12-05T13:31:50]i052: Condition 'VersionNT64 AND (ARCH_NAME = "AMD64")' evaluates to true.
[0CE0:0E04][2023-12-05T13:31:50]i000: Setting version variable 'VCRUNTIME_X64_VER' to value '14.34.31938.0'
[0CE0:0E04][2023-12-05T13:31:50]i052: Condition 'VersionNT' evaluates to true.
[0CE0:0E04][2023-12-05T13:31:50]i000: Setting version variable 'VCRUNTIME_X86_VER' to value '14.38.33130.0'
Since you are installing the 64 bit SharpCap, it's the 64-bit version that is important, and the version you have is too old - SharpCap wants at least 14.36.32532.

Is it possible that when you are installing the 64-bit runtime, you might be using an old download that isn't the most up-to-date version?

cheers,

Robin

***** Good News *****

Robin hi

I couldn't find the very latest version, but used the one listed in the opening of this post(64) and I then installed SharpCap.

Install worked..........Thanks.

I guess initially I looked, found a 64 bit version for my old laptop and assumed(never assume.....) that was that, clearly not the case.

All good and thank you for your time and help.

Cheers
