Yes. I believe one of the earliest demonstrations of this did involve film and the exposure time was months.

Robin, I don't have any need for the SharpCap license but I'd like to send a similar sized donation your way
for your help and attention.

Is there an easy way to do this?

Hi Alan,

there is no real mechanism for donations, since SharpCap runs as a business now. Feel free to buy a 1-year license and not use it (or donate the license to your local astronomical society to use in outreach).
