Has anyone else encountered this problem?

Over the last few evenings, I've noticed that when I choose the shortcut or even directly open the app icon from the file, SharpCap is taking an extended amount of time to load. Has anyone else encountered this problem, and do you have any recommendations for resolving it?

Hi,

people see this from time to time - the cause depends rather on where it is being slow (before the splash screen, splash screen showing, etc). Some things to check

* Have you changed or updated antivirus or other security software recently? Some AV software likes to freeze applications as they load while it performs checks on the code
* Are you using the latest version of SharpCap? Probably worth giving SharpCap 4.1 a try (https://www.sharpcap.co.uk/downloads-4-1) as that has had some changes made to speed up startup
* Have you added any new hardware recently? SharpCap scans for cameras as part of startup and that might take longer if there is a new one

If you are still seeing slow startup with SharpCap 4.1, please post a SharpCap log captured after it finishes loading - that will contain a trace of all the stuff SharpCap did during loading and crucially how long each bit took. With that information it will be possible to narrow down the likely causes significantly.

thanks,

Robin
