Hi Robin,
With live stacking the 1st frame, shouldn’t the star detection status info for both stack and frame be the same?
Yet I see differences in both star count and FWHM between the two.
Why is this?
Regards,
John

Re: Live Stack- Star Detection Status
Hi John,
SharpCap doesn't usually do star detection on the first frame of the stack as it is captured - there is nothing to align with, so that frame goes straight into the stack 'as is'. The first set of star detection is done when the second frame arrives - at which point the first frame becomes the 'stack' in terms of star detection and the second becomes the 'frame'.
After that, SharpCap detects stars in each new frame, but only re-calculates the stack intermittently (unless you change the star detection settings, which forces the stack to be re-measured at the next frame).
cheers,
Robin
