Color Hot pixels in livestacking

Post by carlomuccini »

I would like some advice on how to get rid of these annoying hot pixel colored streaks during livestacking

I also tried using the function: Subtrack Dark / Hot (and the Hot and Cold) pixel removal with Hot pixel sensitivity = 10 without success
RGB24 Mode
15s sub
Save every 30min

Thank you

Hi Carlo,

the first thing to do is to change to RAW8 mode - in RGB24 the hot pixel data is already spread out to surrounding pixels by the time SharpCap gets the image data, and that makes the hot pixel removal far less successful. That should make a big difference (it did for me when I was testing out some all-sky camera imaging).

Other than that, increase the hot pixel sensitivity or use a real dark frame are the other two options.

cheers,

Robin
