Sequence run with two objects do you stop or pause guiding?

#1

Post by yomamma »

I have a sequence run to do my imaging now and I want to try to get time on two objects every night that I image. When going from one object to another do you pause guiding and then resume when centered on the new object or do you stop(disconnect) and then start guiding from scratch for the new object?

I use PHD2 and I'm not sure if I need to have the Sequencer disconnect from PHD2 and then reconnect when the guiding star map completely changes with the new image; or just pause it and slew, then resume.

Thanks

Hi,

really you should pause, slew, resume. You may need 'start guiding if necessary' rather than resume, since once you have moved PHD2 will need to select a new guide star. If you disconnect without pausing then PHD2 will continue to try to guide during the slew, which is not what you want.

cheers,

Robin
