I would like to use a specific white balance when connecting the camera and then change it to 50/50 when i trigger the sequence for running a live stack.
Is there any way to do it and insert in the sequence?
I can't figure a way without changing it manually but then i forget to restore it due to so many things to tweak during the action.

Re: white balance
Perhaps...
One profile called PreStack and another profile called LiveStack... Each with it's own White Balance and or whatever else get's changed?
I think profiles can be changed and changed back inside sequences

Re: white balance
If the camera profile can manage the white balance and be used in the sequencer, that might be the solution. I'll check it, thanks.

Re: white balance
Hi,
yes, you can do it with capture profiles (and if you edit the saved profiles in a text editor you can remove all the lines except the ones you need changed, so the profile will then only affect the white balance when loaded).
Another approach is to use the sequencer - there is a 'Set <Control Name> to <Control Value>' step which can be used to adjust any camera control in the sequencer. If you design the sequence with the camera open then you should see the list of available controls appear in the dropdown for 'Control Name' when setting up this step.
cheers,
Robin

Another SC hidden gem. A step to include "all the rest" i suppose. Very nice.admin wrote: ↑Mon Jun 26, 2023 12:47 pm Hi,

Worked fine, there's a danger though, after changing in the editor, if we click again on the step at the middle board, where all steps are, the default value of 50 overwrites the value we chose. I wonder if this happens in other sequencer steps because we might touch them unintentionally, as i did lol. Actually i usually do it on sharpcap, to click other things after any change because i noticed in the live stack histogram FWHM if i change the number and do nothing, it will not update. So i click another tab and come back to the FWHM tab to check it worked.

Re: white balance
Hi,
oooh, resetting to default is not good
I don't think it will happen to many other steps. That step is particularly complex because the value can be an integer number, a string or even a floating point number depending on the control you have selected. The only other steps that have the same complexity and might be affected are the 'Set Gain' and 'Set ASCOM Switch' steps.
I will fix that issue for the next update.
cheers,
Robin
