When entering single digit Messier targets in the Target Name a '1' is added. Example M1 enters as M11 or M3 is M31, etc.

Hi Don,
this is normal behaviour for the type of control used for the target name - if you start typing it will suggest anything in the drop down list that matches what you have typed so far. So, if you start with a 'J' you get a suggestion of Jupiter, if you start M1 it will suggest M13, etc.
If you don't want the auto suggestion they you can press the <Backspace> key to clear it.
