SC 4.1 beta latest version
ZWO ASI 533MC
I can't figure out where is the problem and if there is a problem
Last night I did four live stacking takes with a save at 5 minutes: save in RAW16 and save in RGB ; in SC Menu File/Saving/Bayer pattern normal-inverted
I used all 4 combinations for the same subject with automatic saving at the end of 5 minutes of FIT16 and processed folder with PNG images
On the monitor the image is good and it is the same one saved in the "processed" folder: same colours
If I open the FIT16 in MaximDl there is a scary GREEN cast
If I open the FIT16 with ASTAP the monitor is completely GREEN
I do the color balance in MaximDl and recover enough colors
I have the feeling that the livestacking FIT16 save doesn't take into consideration the color sliders set in the livestacking
allego alcune immagini di esempio

Re: Live stacking: white balance in FIT16 ASI 533MC
Hi,
I think that the issue here is that the colour balance sliders deliberately do not affect the saved stack when you use the 'Save as 32 bit' or 'Save as 16 bit' stack options. Those options save the stacked data with no further adjustments or processing. The other two options ('Save with adjustments' and 'Save exactly as seen') do include the colour balance adjustments, stretch, enhancements like sharpening, etc. This is all explained in more detail in the documentation : https://docs.sharpcap.co.uk/4.0/#Actions%20Group
All that the colour balance sliders do in SharpCap is to scale the brightness of the three colour channels, but it's important to note that this is done *before* any stretching of the image - if you try to adjust after stretching then you will be in all sorts of trouble. So, the best thing to do is to try to replicate that approach in your processing application - make the colour adjustments before applying a non-linear stretch to the image.
Hope this helps,
Robin
