Fits Icons???

Hello,
This may be a very dumb question but I have 2 laptops each for there respective setups. Both are set to save all files in Fits file format. One laptop saves the file with the explorer icon which can't be opened up in ASI file viewer by double clicking on it.

It wants to find a software to do it.
My other laptop saves the file in Fits format but uses the icon in the ASI viewer and when I double click on that it automatically opens up the file in ASI Fits viewer.

I for the life of me can't figure out what I have to change so what setting do I need to change to fix the one with the explorer icon?

Hi Dale,

the trick to fix this is to right-click on the file, then choose 'open with' from the menu. Then choose 'Choose Another App'. This should bring up a window to let you choose which app to use to open FITS files, with a tick box at the bottom to make it the default. Hopefully once you have done this, everything should work.

Hello Robin,
It seems as though I have tried this in the past but I’ll give it another go. I just can’t understand what I have different in the configuration between the 2 laptops. I’ve literally sat with them both side by side and went thru the settings and have everything identical. Makes me very confused 🫤.
I’ll see if I can make that work the way you mentioned Robin.

BTW I absolutely love SC Pro! Great software Robin!
