Is anyone using SharpCap with the ZWO AM5 mount?
How well does the ASCOM driver work with SharpCap?
Can you use Ascom Device HUB to control the AM5 simultaneously, using SharpCap, PHD2 and say Stellarium?
As you can guess, I'm trying to stay with SharpCap and a PC avoid going down the ZWO ASI route.
Seasons greetings
Mark

Re: ZWO AM5 mount
Hi Mark,
I'm not aware of anyone specifically using the AM5 with SharpCap yet (no posts here on the forums), which probably means it works just fine, since if it didn't then we'd have seen people posting here...
Device hub's whole purpose is to allow sharing of a device between multiple applications if it doesn't naturally support this, so that bit should work fine. As far as the ZWO AM5 ASCOM driver goes, it doesn't know that the commands it is receiving are comming from different applications, it just sees them as commands. The device hub handles all the complex stuff of dealing with multiple applications and only letting one talk to the device at once.
If you look at the change log for the ZWO ASCOM driver, they added AM5 support back in January (https://astronomy-imaging-camera.com/so ... driver.txt) and there have been lots of updates since - I would take that as a good sign - any significant bugs should have been ironed out by now.
Merry Christmas,
Robin
