Hello there.
I have just installed SharpCap and connected my QHY168C camera to my scope and mount.
I can connect to my camera and see live images of objects and adjust many settings but the "start capture" menu item is greyed out and I cannot figure what is stopping me from capturing (saving) images to work on...
Sorry for newbie question. I have reviewed the user guide, manual and scanned the forums but nothing obvious jumps out at me.
Appreciate any help,
Thank You
Adrian

Re: QHY168C - start capture greyed out (newbie question)
Hi Adrian,
that's odd... 'Start Capture' should work as long as the camera is open and is not already busy doing something ('something' could inlcude already capturing, running polar alignment, live stacking and a couple of other things). It doesn't sound like you have done anything other than just open the camera, so I don't think any of those 'somethings' will apply...
The only other thing that comes to mind is that maybe the camera hasn't quite finished starting for some reason - it's working enough to show images, but SharpCap hasn't yet flagged it as fully active. QHY have a weird thing where sometimes it pops up a message box from their software telling you to update your drivers - if that message box has popped up, but maybe appeared behind SharpCap and you haven't noticed it, it could explain thing.
So, best advice is make sure you have installed the latest drivers from the QHY all-in-one package, and the latest SharpCap 4. If you still have the problem, please post a screenshot and the SharpCap log (saved after opening the camera, when the 'start capture' is still disabled) and I will see if I can work out what is going on.
cheers,
Robin
