Where are all the youtube videos?

#1

Post by StuartT »

I use SharpCap for planetary and solar video capture prior to processing in AS! and Registax. I can work the basic camera controls and image capture but there seem to be a whole lot of tools in addition that I have never used (but which look super useful). The focussing assistant, for example. But I can't make head nor tail of how to use it and the documentation doesn't really help.

There are masses of videos out there on NINA, Pixinsight etc but virtually none on SharpCap. This seems very odd as videos are by far the best way of learning how to do something.

Can anyone point me to any for SharpCap? Or maybe even make some? I have SharpCap Pro and it is very frustrating only being able to use a small fraction of its potential

Hi,

I think there are a selection of 'howto' style videos on youtube, but we don't create any ourselves, so they are all user generated. What you also get a fair bit of is people recording or broadcasting (night skies network) their imaging session, often with good explanations of what they are doing and why, so it may be worth looking for something of that nature to follow along with what more experienced users are doing.

There is always the documentation : https://docs.sharpcap.co.uk/4.0/ - a bit dry compared to a video, but it has the advantage that it's easy to scroll down past the bits you already know, and searching for key words in it is dead easy ;)

cheers,

Robin
