Hello Robin,
admin wrote: Sun Oct 30, 2022 3:53 pm Hi Ewald,

can you share a selection of images with me (raw frames, flat frame, dark frame) in FITS format please so that I can try to reproduce the issue as you see it. I'm afraid I do not understand quite what is going on yet :(

cheers,

Robin

I tried to do some testfiles for you.

Here is a link to ZIP Archive: sharpcap.zip

There are three directories
screenshot1.jpg
screenshot1.jpg (16.55 KiB) Viewed 527 times
In "Capture" you will find the flats I did with capture and substract dark flat frames and I used this night

In NGC6946 you will find the files I did with the above flats and the dark option hot pixel remove
screenshot2.jpg
screenshot2.jpg (51.13 KiB) Viewed 527 times
In IC5070 you will find one JPG which shows, that the flats above worked in combination with "real" darkfiles without any claim. I missed to save fits here.
screenshot3.jpg
screenshot3.jpg (34.95 KiB) Viewed 527 times

I hope this files help you to understand what's going on. In case you need additional information or I should save the files different or other files, don't hesitate to tell me what I should (re-) do that it will be helpfully for you.

Hi Ewald,

unfortunately the zip file doesn't contain any raw frames (frames from the camera without any processing applied), so I cannot recreate the setup that you have to try to work out what is going wrong. You would need to switch on the 'save raw frames' option in live stacking to save these if you haven't turned it on already - see https://docs.sharpcap.co.uk/4.0/#Controls%20Group

cheers,

Robin
