Possible bug with mutliple cameras -- a feature?

#1

Post by GregL »

I have two telescopes on a common mount, each with a QHY camera. Been running two instances of v4, which seems to work... except when I try to save a named configuration. I cannot do so from the second instance. Am only able to access existing configurations, but the second instance won't save a new one, won't even allow naming one. Just saw the notes about command line startups declaring instance labels, will give that a try. Obvious workaround is set that stuff up under a single instance. Or consider it a feature.

Hi Greg,

I am assuming that you are trying to save a new capture profile and are getting errors (hopefully that is what you mean by 'configuration'). Do you get an actual error message (and if so what)? I can't see any obvious reason that this should fail when running two copies of SharpCap, even without the /instance command line flag. If you don't see an error as such, there may be something in the log that indicates what is going on.

One thing to note - if you create a new capture profile in SharpCap copy 2, copy 1 will not notice it until you close and re-open the camera in copy 1. The same the other way around.

cheers,

Robin

No error message, was just unable to enter a save name in the field.
