Hello All,
I had clear skies tonight so had the opportunity to play outside with SharpCap
I was concentrating on M51 and I noticed a couple of things.
1) I started having trouble with too much green shading in the image
I can adjust blue, and red - but I can't get rid of the green.
2) So far - I can get a better image of M51 by forgetting about stacking - and simply playing with Exposure and gain settings such that the Exposure is up to around 40 seconds. I adjust the gain so that it brightens the object without brightening the space around it.
Once I get it the way I think is best possible image - I take a screen shot of that image as a picture.
Setting the Exposure to around 10 seconds and the gain to around 350 - and stacking multiple images did not produce an acceptable image.
In this case the details of M51 were all but lost and only the two inner cores were visible.
Getting too much green in the image - how to fix?

Re: Getting too much green in the image - how to fix?
Hi,
it's probably worth you posting some of your images here so we can see exactly what you mean about the green and also the sort of quality level that you are getting with/without stacking.
I am guessing that you have a ZWO camera from the fact that you only have R/B colour adjustments. You can normally remove the green cast by either turning these up, or (my preference) fixing it after capture/stacking in a paint application or using the colour adjustments in SharpCap's live stacking.
cheers,
Robin

Re: Getting too much green in the image - how to fix?
Thank you!
I'm not familiar with the color adjustments in the live-stacking portion of SharpCap
Are they located inside the histogram?
I've seen color bars there - but don't know how they would be adjusted.
I'll see if I can't find that info in the help file
Thanks
