Forum rules
1) NO PERSONAL INSULTS: Absolutely no insulting and derogatory posts to other members. You may disagree with someone else's opinion but you may not deride them for holding that opinion.

2) DO NOT POST “OFFENSIVE” posts, links or images. Any material which constitutes defamation, harassment, or abuse is strictly prohibited. Material that is sexually or otherwise obscene, racist, or otherwise overly discriminatory is not permitted on these forums. This includes links, images and profile pictures.

3) RESPECT: Please treat all users of this board with the same level of respect that you expect to be treated with by others.

4) LANGUAGE: Obscene language should be avoided. If you wouldn't say it in front of small children then don't post it on the forums. And if you would swear in front of small children be prepared for your posts to be deleted.

5) DO NOT SEND PMs ASKING FOR HELP. All requests for help should be posted as public forum posts as the responses then become a resource that can be used by everyone.

6) DO NOT CROSS POST. Do not post the same question in more than one forum. If you post in the wrong forum then the post can be moved by a Moderator or the Admin.

7) KEEP THREAD SUBJECTS DESCRIPTIVE AND SENSIBLE. The thread subject should give a good indication of what the thread is about. Do not post threads titled 'Help Please', use titles like 'Problem with RAW capture on ASCOM cameras' instead.

8) DO NOT POST COPYRIGHT-INFRINGING MATERIAL. Providing or asking for information on how to illegally obtain copyrighted materials is forbidden.

9) NO BUYING/SELLING. Advertising of items for sale or items wanted is allowed on the forum. Advertising posts will be removed without warning and offenders may be banned.

10) NO COMMERCIAL POSTS. No posts by commercial organisations, ie retailers, traders etc of a commercial nature without prior permission of the admins. We do not allow unapproved commercial postings, any violations and the post will be removed and you face a permanent ban! We are not your free advertising board. This includes using a company name as your user name and links to commercial sites in signatures.

11) NO SITE SPAMMING: Any posts considered spam by the Moderators or Admin will be removed and posters may be permanently banned.

12) ADMIN DECISIONS ARE FINAL: Use of this forum indicates acceptance of these rules including the fact that the decision of the Administrator on any matter is final.

If you are new to the SharpCap Forums or about to join the forums then you may find this information useful.

Creating an Account

When you create an account you will be sent an email message to confirm your email address. You will not be able to login or post until you have clicked on the link in this message. If you do not receive the message straight away then please check your 'Spam' or 'Junk Mail' folders as sometimes your email program or ISP may have classed it as junk email. Sometimes the message can be delayed - if you have not seen this message within 12 hours of registering, please use the contact form to get in touch with the admin.

You must complete a 'recaptcha' quiz and answer a simple question to allow your registration to proceed - these are to keep the number of people posting junk messages to the boards down to a manageable level. If you cannot see the recapatcha because you cannot contact Google servers then you may need to contact admin to get an account set up for you.

Your first post

Your first post must be approved by a moderator or admin before it becomes visible. This approach is required to prevent junk messages advertising everything from running shoes to diet pills appearing on the forums. First messages will usually be approved within 12 hours but sometimes it may take up to 24 hours for one of the admin team to approve your message. Please try to be patient and don't duplicate your post while waiting - thanks!

Message to spammers : If your first post is a spam or advertising post then it will not be approved and your account will be deleted without notice.

Asking Questions and Solving problems

Please check the documentation before asking a question - many questions asked here have already been answered in the documentation. You can find the documentation for SharpCap 2.9 here - https://docs.sharpcap.co.uk/2.9. Documentation for newer versions will be available soon.

Please also search the forums to see if your question has already been discussed before posting. You can use the search box on the forums or you can search on Google - for instance, searching on google for

will search for posts mentioning dropped frames and may give you better results than the built in forum search.
