ASI2600 MC Pro gain value - is 100 the same as 100?

Hi Robin,
Query on the ASI2600MC Pro gain, maybe to ZWO camera in general. Could not find the answer in the forums specifically.
On sharpcap, I have been using Gain 100 for the HCG mode on this camera by setting the slider at gain 100.
That slider goes to 700, whereas in other software is has different limits.

So is the Gain 100 setting on the sharpcap slider identical to the ZWO gain 100 where HCG mode kicks in? Gain 0 is moot since I assume zero is zero everywhere.

Thanks

Hi,

I can't guarantee what other software does, but in SharpCap, the gain value matches the values shown on the ZWO sensor data graphs, so gain 100 in SharpCap is gain 100 on the graph. My experience with ZWO cameras is that although they may offer gains of up to 600 or 700, anything more than 500 is not very usable.

cheers,

Robin
