Sensor Analysis and Smart Histogram using ASI224MC

#1

Post by Buckrogers »

Hey guys,

I ran the Sensor Analysis and was attempting to use the Smart Histogram (Brain), pointed the scope to the darkest part of the sky and ran the measurement. I was amazed what happened when I used the settings it recommended. This is a fantastic tool. Thank you. My question is, do I need to rerun the Brain each time I point the scope to another part of the sky, or do I need to only run the measurement once per night. I know I have to rerun the measurement each time I change the filter.

Hi,

good to hear it worked well for you at picking out the right settings.

It's a bit of a judgement thing on whether to run the measurement again - if you are moving to different targets in the same area of the sky then no need. If you move quite a bit, particularly if you move to an area of sky that is more/less bright in terms of light pollution, then it is worth re-running.

cheers,

Robin
