Re: Recognizing ASI224MC camera
Hi,
does it still work in SharpCap 3.0 (you can install 3.1 and 3.0 side by side on the same machine)?
The two possible reasons I'm thinking of for this are
1) Problems due to the latest ZWO SDK update I put into SharpCap on the 24th Jan - if this was the cause then 3.0 would work and 3.1 would not
2) USB issues (intermittent or poor communication) - this would stop both versions of SharpCap working, but can sometimes be working well enough for the camera to appear in device manager
thanks,
Robin

Re: Recognizing ASI224MC camera
-Same result with 3.0
-I tried Nebulosity and had same problem
-Camera connects fine with with astrolive, so i'm suspecting
the issue might be with either (a) using Parallels or (b) Zwo windows driver.
A bit strange in that there were no Windows or Parallels updates over 2/05 to 2/06 when the it stopped connecting...
Unfortunately, i do not have a PC to test. the Parallels theory,

Re: Recognizing ASI224MC camera
Ah, Parallels... I personally only do PCs, not Macs, but I've seen reports with other brand cameras that Parallels was really flaky but the devices worked fine under Windows when using Boot Camp. I've certainly had success when using USB2 cameras under VMWare for testing on Windows, but USB3 is a bit dodgy under virtualization (and very slow).
If it's a USB3 cam, try using a USB2 lead and see if that helps - it might pin the data transfer rate back to one that the virtualization can manage.
cheers,
Robin

Re: Recognizing ASI224MC camera
Thanks. Indeed, using USB 2.0.both Sharpcap and Nebulosity connected,
so I presume a virtual machine issue arose.

Re: Recognizing ASI224MC camera
I actually got USB 3.0 to work by re-installing the parallels toolbox.
