Flats w/Bias Frames Issue
I'm using the wizard to create flats and selecting the option to include bias frames. When I do this the wizard seems to run off on its own and start creating dark flats, hundreds of images. When I don't select the include bias frames option the wizard operates fine, the flats themselves are worthless, but the wizard seems to behave. Not sure if there are any log files associated with this that I could share to help diagnose.

Re: Flats w/Bias Frames Issue
Hi,
can you send me a log (captured after the problem happens). I can't see anything obviously bad happen in testing here. The normal capture of flat or dark frames adds 1 extra frame to the number you specify (and throws away the first frame) just in case you were a bit quick in pressing 'go' and the first frame in was not entirely right. When capturing bias frames for flats, it adds 5 extra frames to make sure the effect of the exposure change is in all frames. No sign of any more than that.
cheers,
Robin

Re: Flats w/Bias Frames Issue
Log attached. It's using one of the test cameras but same situation with the wizard generating an endless supply of dark flats when I just want a few bias-adjusted flats.
Thanks for your help Robin.

Re: Flats w/Bias Frames Issue
Hi Don,
it's an issue when the camera is in still mode as far as I can tell - I think I have a fix now, but I have had to change more code than I would normally want to, so a lot of checking to do to make sure I don't break something else!
cheers,
Robin

Re: Flats w/Bias Frames Issue
Thanks Robin. Is there a workaround? I tried flats without the bias calibration and it wasn't correcting very well. Could have been an issue with the flats as I was using sky flats instead of my panel so maybe I give panel flats a try without bias correction.

Re: Flats w/Bias Frames Issue
Hi Don,
please try upgrading to the very latest SharpCap - I have (hopefully) fixed the issue. Version 4.0.8199.
If you don't want to upgrade just yet, put the camera into live mode while capturing flats.
cheers,
Robin
