Hi Menno,

Good, but are both approaches equally valid in your situation? I understand what he is saying, but he is assuming that you have very dark skies. This is why raising gain works when capturing narrowband. The narrowband filter almost cuts your LP to zero. Unfortunately you don't have that same situation using wideband filters like luminance. The only way to cut LP to (nearly) zero with luminance is to visit a Bortle 2 site.

I am just going to start with the lowest Gain possible, like you suggested, with 500 second exposure and default Offset/Brightness of 20. And if that isn't giving results, I'll work my way up. Simple but effective strategy I think
