Bug with bin selection for ASI294 MM camera

Hi Robin,

Curiously the beta version - most recent update of 4.0 - is only giving me a choice of bin 1 or bin 3 when I connect the camera. It is fine in SC 3.2 where all four choices 1-4 are visible.

Hi,

this is deliberate - you will notice that there is a new 'Read mode' control which allows you to select 11 megapixel or 46 megapixel mode. ZWO have implemented this in terms of their binning, but that does not play nicely with the way that SharpCap's sensor analysis works, so I have split out a separate read mode.

SharpCap 3.2 SharpCap 4.0

Bin 1 46 megapixel, bin 1
Bin 2 11 megapixel, bin 1
Bin 3 46 megapixel, bin 3
Bin 4 11 megapixel, bin 2

The new version also more accurately reflects how the camera is working - for instance in the 11 megapixel modes the camera does its own internal pixel binning and sends 11 megapixels of data to the PC. In 46 megapixel bin 3, the camera runs in full resolution and the 3x3 binning happens on the PC.

Thanks once again Robin. All clear I will keep on using 4-0. So far it mostly seems to be behaving as expected for the things I have tried thus far.
