SC4.0 - Strange stars in 32-bit livestack

#1

Post by DocHighCo »

Hello,

now that saving 32-bit livestacks works again I found something else. I noticed that some bright stars have a strange appearance:
Image.
This looks like there is some kind of overrun. However I cannot imagine why. Only 30 images were stacked. The 16-bit version of the same livestack saved at the same time via the sequencer (livestack saved with "All formats") does not show this.

Regards

Hi,

are you using the very latest version (4.0.7483)? I think I fixed this problem in that version - it was calculating the range of the image wrongly when trying to scale up to use the full 32 bit range for the FITS file.

Dear Robin,

it was the 4.0.7438.0-64bit version. Thanks to fix it. You are releasing new beta-versions quicker than I can follow at the moment.

Hi Heiko,

Now that I'm working full-time on SharpCap I'm getting a lot more done :-)

I'm trying to put out a new beta update every Monday, but this week I ended up putting out one on Tuesday as well because Mondays update had a nasty bug that I hadn't spotted on it.

Cheers, Robin
